This National award celebrates therapists who achieve skin transformations for their clients. It is such an exciting recognition. There are 5 different categories. Age management, Sensitization, Hydration, Clearing and Brightening. I have entered the Clearing category. The winners are announced in June. Wish me luck!

My beautiful client has been on a journey with acne and I have been on the ride! Through a series of basic facials with extractions and calming treatments we progressed to strengthening the integrity of the skin with IPL skin rejuvenation. This process has taken some years. Now the acne is pretty much cleared and we are concentrating on reducing scarring with skin needling and LED light.
There has been a lot of dedication from my client to use Ultraderm products religiously at home and she has never missed a monthly facial. It’s not just about the treatments. It is about the whole person and their personal recreational and working lifestyle. Our client has also had health issues to overcome with some stress, so she introduced yoga into her weekly routine. Dietary tweeks such as eliminating dairy and alcohol for a period of time were tried and tested. She also added a probiotic to her diet.
Consideration had to be made about working outdoors. Larger sunglasses to cover more eye area, large hat, and using cleansing wipes before reapplying SPF. This holistic approach has to be considered when looking at how to treat skin types and which treatments and home care products to use. Its amazing how much this approach can make to skin care results.
There were set backs also. One month the skin looked like clearing up and then the next it seemed like it was back to square one. Hormones were playing a big part in this but once some health issues settled down so did the skin. Also, there was Covid-19 lockdowns! Due to this the salon was closed so we set up a home care routine with a clay mask and an exfoliating mask to use on a weekly rotation alongside their usual cleansing, toning mist, serums and moisturizer with SPF.
With that all behind us we have a client that doesn’t wear makeup to cover imperfections, is confident and happy with her skin.
I get inspired with clients that are happy with the results we achieve together.
